Why 2019 Lok-sabha Election was an unprecedented event in democratic India's history

Picture Courtesy NYTimes India stepped in the 72nd year of its independent history in 2019  and people went out to vote for 17th term of Lok Sabha we witnessed a swift victory for the current ruling  party  almost replaying the gigantic mandate of 2014, While the Bhartiya Janta Party is all set to repeat its position in power headed by Narendra Modi as Prime Minister there are a few things in this election that make them an exception in Indian history. The fact can't be denied that this election witnessed a lack of ground issues, especially from the ruling party and non-issues were made issues. We as voters were offered very little choice it was portrayed to us that there is no option other than the current prime minister,  and no man can handle this country.
